Blue Moon

~It’s choice, not chance - That determines your destiny~ - Jean Nidetch

Chapter One; Destinies Chosen One

“Shadow,” says a dark voice from the darkness. “Do you know where the girl is, the one we're looking for?”
            The young man's eyes opened, staring at the man before him, his light brown eyes boring through the darkness and glared into the dark brown one, he shook his head once as if saying "not yet". He looked down and clenched his hand into a fist against his black pants, his shaggy brown locks falling into his left eye. His fist shook from anger. The man sitting in front of him looked at him in sheer amusement.
            “No.” The man named, Shadow replied; “but the darkness is getting closer, I sense it.”
            The man sitting in his chair looked at Shadow with inertness. “We better find this girl quickly Shadow; I'm running out of patience.”
            Shadow looked up at the man with a frown as he closed his eyes again and nodded;
            “Yes, Master Vincent.”

            In another world far from their own, lived a peaceful, but yet busy city called; Crystal City, there were houses close to each other it was hard to get out of driveways and curbs. The air smelled like summer and the fresh grass filled the people’s noses, and they were excited to get close to summer. A small school recited near the nearby neighborhood, the school bell rang loudly in the neighborhood and the parents looked over seeing the kids pile out of the private academy their summer uniforms merged together as they walked out, it was a small institute where the kids were enrolled. A small group walked out talking about their weekend, just like the other kids were. And out of all those people, was me of course.
            I wasn’t your average girl, okay, maybe I was, but I don’t like to brag about it. I just have different colored eyes, they’re gold with a tint of an icy blue in them, it’s not like I wanted these colors. They’re just — abnormal for me okay? My friends all had different colored eyes. My friend Drake had black hair and matching coal black eyes. Don’t judge him, he won’t like it. I won’t explain the rest of my friends, even though I only got— about five other friends. My brown hair passing my shoulder blades and my pale blue bangs hanged right into my eyes as they closed when I laughed at the joke my friend; Drake said.
            I didn’t realize what time it was ‘till I saw the sun setting, I whispered an “Oh.” under my breath and flipped my wrist to see my watch. I sighed, I had to go feed Artemis, and she gets cranky if I don’t feed her right away. So, I looked at the group with a saddened look. I would rather be chatting with my friends, damn the cuteness of my dog.
            “Hey, ladies and gentleman, I need to get going and feed my dog.” I informed them with a small frown painting on my pale pink lips.
            They smiled and looked at me, they patted my back and I smiled and ran off, I loved my friends because they understand what I’m going through and that's what I love about them.
            I started running quickly to my house, hating running or walking alone here in this town, I know I lived here all my life but I still consider it to be a dangerous neighborhood. I heard shuffling behind me, and I stopped and looked back. I blinked lightly; shrugging my shoulders gently, and then continued running home. The shuffling behind me continued but I chose to ignore it for now, maybe someone was trying to sneak up behind me, and damn they were doing a good job of it. In a case like this, a girl would scream on top of her lungs, but I wasn’t one of those girls. I was one of those girls who fight for what I believe in. But, before, I was one of those girls. Almost being raped by a gang does that to you.
            Well, enough about me, let’s get going on with my story, shall we?
